Our Sony FX9 with Sony Wireless Set and GMaster Lenses

At Bcreative Digital Media, we understand the importance of using professional-grade camera equipment to deliver outstanding results for our clients. That's why we rely on the Sony FX9, Sony FX3, and G Master lenses, a winning combination that caters to the needs of filmmakers, videographers, and content creators alike. In this blog post, we will explore the remarkable features and advancements offered by these cutting-edge tools and how they contribute to creating high-quality, cinematic footage.

The Sony FX9, released in 2019 as the successor to the highly acclaimed Sony FS7, brought significant improvements in terms of image quality, versatility, and user experience. One of the most notable enhancements is its full-frame 6K Exmor R CMOS sensor, a departure from the Super 35mm sensor found in the FS7. This larger sensor size provides superior low-light performance, increased dynamic range, and a shallower depth of field, resulting in breathtaking visuals that truly stand out.

In addition to the sensor upgrade, the FX9 incorporates Sony's advanced Fast Hybrid AF system, combining phase-detection and contrast-detection AF for enhanced accuracy and speed. This results in precise focus control, real-time subject tracking, and customizable AF settings. The camera's Dual Base ISO functionality is another remarkable feature, offering separate shooting options for low-light and well-lit conditions. With this feature, the FX9 delivers exceptional noise performance without compromising image quality.

The built-in electronic variable ND filter sets the FX9 apart from its predecessor, the FS7. This feature provides seamless and precise control over exposure without the need for external ND filters, simplifying on-location shooting and facilitating rapid adjustments. Furthermore, the FX9 supports a wide range of recording formats, including 4K full-frame, Super 35mm, and a unique hybrid mode that combines both sensor areas. It offers flexible recording options such as XAVC-I, XAVC-L, and MPEG HD, and can even record in up to 16-bit RAW with an external recorder.

Sony has also made significant improvements to the ergonomics of the FX9, ensuring better handling, balance, and overall user comfort. The adjustable SmartGrip handle and detachable viewfinder provide flexibility in different shooting scenarios, allowing filmmakers to capture their vision with ease. Additionally, the FX9 offers expanded connectivity options, including multiple XLR inputs, HDMI, and SDI outputs, enhancing audio and video connectivity on set.

Bcreative Digital Media recognizes the importance of future-proofing equipment, and Sony has demonstrated its commitment to the FX9 with ongoing firmware updates. These updates provide continuous improvements and new features, ensuring that the camera remains adaptable to evolving industry demands.

Complementing the Sony FX9 is the Sony FX3, the little brother of the FX9 and a perfect companion for various shooting scenarios. Designed with a compact form factor, the FX3 is highly portable, making it ideal for on-the-go filmmakers. Despite its smaller size, the FX3 shares many of the advanced video technologies found in the FX9. It features a 4K full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor, advanced video functions like S-Log3, S-Cinetone, and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), and 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) for smooth footage even when shooting handheld.

Our GMaster Lenses - Sharp. Fast. Incredible Autofocus.

To complete our arsenal, Bcreative Digital Media relies on Sony's G Master (GM) lenses. These lenses are renowned for their exceptional optical quality, build construction, and versatility. Designed for Sony's full-frame mirrorless cameras, including the FX9 and FX3, G Master lenses deliver outstanding image quality with excellent resolving power, sharpness, and minimal aberrations. Many G Master lenses also feature a constant wide maximum aperture, ensuring consistent exposure settings across different focal lengths. Their fast and accurate autofocus systems provide precise focus tracking and subject detection, while their professional build quality ensures durability and ease of use.

Sony offers a wide range of G Master lenses, including wide-angle, standard, telephoto, and zoom lenses, providing options for various shooting scenarios. These lenses perfectly complement the capabilities of the FX9 and FX3, allowing Bcreative Digital Media to capture high-quality, cinematic footage with exceptional clarity, dynamic range, and creative flexibility. Their affordability, when compared to Arri Alexa and Alexa Mini packages, makes them a compelling choice for professionals who want to own their equipment without compromising on performance.

Experienced DPs agree that once a camera reaches a certain level of technical ability, the quality of the lenses becomes paramount. Bcreative Digital Media has had numerous projects where footage from our Sony cameras seamlessly integrated with footage captured on Arri cameras systems. This speaks to the exceptional quality and capabilities of the Sony FX9, FX3, and G Master lenses.

In conclusion, the Sony FX9 and FX3 cameras, combined with the remarkable G Master lenses, empower Bcreative Digital Media to deliver exceptional results to our clients. These tools provide unparalleled image quality, advanced features, and ease of use, allowing us to capture cinematic footage that meets the highest standards of the industry.

DP, AC and focus puller - One camera, three people. Expensive.

Pro Tip-

Camera Systems like the Arri & Red are large and quite complex often requiring more crew members on set. The result is slower moving shoots. Unless you are dealing with Madison Ave budgets, take a pass and put your money into good glass and lighting. The Sony FX9 is the industry standard for general footage acquisition for a reason.
